Furnishing the Lucerne Cantonal Council meeting hall

Sleek elegance in a baroque setting

The room’s centrepiece is an impressively vast conference table, where the council meets and receives its guests. The ellipse-shaped table sits atop a sleek, conical base installed with compact state-of-the-art AV technology. This lends a certain lightness to the amply proportioned tabletop, which also offers the perfect amount of legroom. The walnut wood matches the doors and panelling of the baroque chamber and the side tables inside.

The base’s closed interior creates a sense of visual calm. It features a metallic silky gloss paint finish and a colour that matches the carpet’s vibrant Lucerne blue. The wool in the carpet is alternately tufted and knotted, creating a diagonal checkerboard pattern inspired by antique parquet flooring.

A specific segment of the table can be removed to reach the space inside when required.
