"Weisses Gold" at Museum Bellerive

Exploring the fascination of porcelain

To illustrate the history and changing character of porcelain from a luxury good to an object of everyday life, the exhibits were largely presented in what resembles a private atmosphere: in vitrines, glass cases, and on shelves, on chests of drawers, dining tables, kitchen tables or on the living room wall. This demonstrated the importance of these objects of use and decoration throughout the centuries. Porcelain never lost its attraction: this was shown by objects designed by contemporary artists that were given a special place at the exhibition.
